Opening images from the scanner

You can only scan images if you have at least one scanner attached to your system that is TWAIN compliant. If no scanners are found on your system, the New from scanner menu and the Select source menu will be disabled.

To select from which scanner you will be scanning, choose Select source from the File menu.

To start a new scan, choose New from scanner from the File menu. Your scanner interface will appear, and you can proceed with scanning an image as you normally do. This process depends on your scanner interface. See its documentation for more information.

If your graph is in color, you are advised to scan in color. If your graph is in black and white, you are advised to scan in black and white. The resolution of the graph you will find is important too; the better the resolution, the more accurate your results. On the other hand, you do not want too large an image; for example it is practical if it fits on your screen.

When you accept the scanned image, a new document window will appear in which the image is displayed.

Next you will need to set the axes.
