Depending on what source your image came from, there might be more information in your image than just your graph. To remove this information from your image, select Crop mode, and draw a rectangle around the graph part of your image using the left mouse button.
If your document already contains axes definitions and data, these will be automatically adjusted for the new image dimensions.
