Welcome to the SciLab CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import. This is a SciLab package that allows you to import and use CAPE-OPEN version 1.1 thermodynamic Property Packages inside SciLab, for thermodynamic and physical property calculations as well as thermodynamic phase equilibrium calculations.
This package does not implement any thermodynamics; it is merely the glue between existing CAPE-OPEN version 1.1 Thermodynamic Property Packages and SciLab. Various CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic Property Packages are available. For example, the free CAPE-OPEN flowsheet simulator COCO comes with a Property Package Manager called TEA.
If you did not register the CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import tool with SciLab during installation, you can do so by running "Register with SciLab" from the start menu. This step is also required after installation of a new version of SciLab. This registration step will add a command to the scilab.start configuration file.
If you do not wish to automatically load the CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import tools, you can
skip the registration. To use the CAPE-OPEN Thermo tool, you will need to explicitly load it.
To do so, run the capeOpenThermoImportInit.sci SciLab script in the installation folder,
for example by running:
exec('c:\Program Files\AmsterCHEM\AmsterCHEM\SciLab CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import\capeOpenThermoImportInit.sci',0);
from the SciLab command line.

Scilab version 5.02 or higher must be installed and running on your system; it is available from http://www.scilab.org/.
SciLab CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import allows for using CAPE-OPEN version 1.1 thermodynamics. It will therefore only cooperate with CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic Property Packages that support this CAPE-OPEN version.
